English: Digitally restored and enhanced image of the first edition cover for F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel The Great Gatsby (1925). The book's cover art by illustrator Francis Cugat was first published in April 1925; hence, the cover art resides in the public domain in the United States because it was published (or registered with the U.S. Copyright Office) before January 1, 1926. Furthermore, any mechanical scans/photocopies of the cover likewise reside in the public domain as they do not qualify for independent copyright protection. |

Aanpassingen: The original cover has been digitally restored and enhanced by User:Flask via Adobe Photoshop using a variety of methods: Scratches were removed; torn segments were replaced using auto-fill; a seam was added to imitate the original contours of the book; the color was improved; a light grain was added; selected color shifts were used, as well as numerous other changes.
