«1. L'emblema de la Generalitat Valenciana és constituït per l'heràldica del Rei Pere el Cerimoniós, representativa de l'històric Regne de València, tal i com seguit es blasona:
1.1. Escut: inclinat a la destra, d'or, amb quatre pals de gules.
1.2. Timbre: Elm d'argent coronat; mantellet que en penja d'atzur, amb una creu patent curvilínia i fixada amb punta agusada d'argent, folrat de gules; per cimera, un drac naixent d'or alat, linguat de gules i dentat d'argent». Article 6.é de la Llei 8/1984, de 4 de desembre, de la Generalitat Valenciana, DOGV núm. 211 de 13/12/1984.

This file depicts a official symbol of the Valencian Community, Spain (the Flag, the Official Anthem, the Emblem or the Standard of the Generalitat Valenciana). The usage of such symbols is governed by legal restrictions, independent of the copyright status of the depiction shown here. The usage is regulated in Act No. 8-1984, of December 4, of symbols of the Valencian Community and their use. Some of the restrictions are:
  • It is not allowed to place on the Flag, or on the Standard, symbols or acronyms of political parties, unions, business organizations or similar organizations (Article 13).
  • The Emblem can only be used in the buildings and establishments of the Generalitat, official media in which the laws of the Valencian Corts are published, diplomas and titles issued by the Generalitat, documents, forms, stamps and letterheads for official use by the Generalitat, official publications, badges used by authorities of the Generalitat, representative objects of official use and other cases regulated by regulations (Articles 16 and 17).

Some of the exceptions are:

  • Corporations with distinctive symbols that coincide with those of the Valencian Community can maintain them (art. 11).
