E.M. Forster (Marylebone, 1 januari 1879 - Coventry, 7 juni 1970) was een Engelse schrijver. Forster behoort zowel tot het realisme als het modernisme. Hij is een van de meest succesvolle schrijvers van de vroege 20e eeuw. Forster staat bekend om zijn romans, zoals Een kamer met uitzicht (A Room with a View, 1908), Howards End (1910), Overtocht naar India (A Passage to India, 1924) en Maurice (1971).
