Idaho is een van de vijftig staten van de Verenigde Staten. De staat ligt in het noordwesten van het land. De afkorting van Idaho is ID. De bijnamen zijn 'The Gem State' en 'The Potatoe State' (de edelsteenstaat en de aardappelstaat). In Idaho worden namelijk veel aardappels verbouwd. Op de kentekens van de auto's staat zelfs: Famous Potatoes!
Idaho grenst aan de staten Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, Washington en Oregon. Ook grenst het aan buurland Canada.
De hoofdstad van Idaho is Boise.
